What Should One-Sided Lovers Do?

When a person finds himself or herself in a one-sided love story, it is easy to get depressed, irritated, frustrated when the love isn't reciprocated, and its just basic human nature. When we are devoting our time into something or someone constantly, we want something in return. After all we are profit oriented beings.
But when love, any kind of love gets profit oriented, it stops being love altogether. It becomes a transaction. “You shall love me because I love you.” Does this sound love to you? To me, not so.
Love is free of power, control, returns, profit, intimidation, coercion. You cannot force someone to love you. They either do it naturally, or they don't. They don't owe you love or relationship just because you love them. You love them because you wanted to, they did not tell you to love them. Sameway, you cannot tell them to love you.
So my first advice would be: Don't expect them to love you because you love them.
But you say it's painful? Well if its love, obviously its going to be painful. What makes you think a two sided love story that converts into a relationship is pain free? Or a break up? Losing them after having them? Doesn't that hurt? Love, my friend, is painful in all its forms. There is no such thing as pain free love. The only thing we can do is to learn how to cope up and live our life fully amidst it.
My advice to one sided lovers is that do not expect the other one to reciprocate your love, because sincerely the hope hurts and engulfs your life. If they're not reciprocating, kindly accept their decision and distance yourself from them. Make your life. Create a space for a real relationship. Find someone who will actually like you for who you are. Don't go on refusing everyone who comes to you just for “the one" and end up waiting for then for an eternity.
Love is beautiful and everyone deserves someone who loves them in their life, and honestly, life is just too short to keep on waiting one person till forever. Its like a book; move on to the next chapter when one is finished.
My second advice: If they don't love you back, move on and find someone who will.
