Meditation Is the New Medication..!!

Just a short while ago,I paid a visit to our family doctor.After scribbling few names of required medicines on his clinical paper,he asked to me to do some stretching exercises,after hearing my full day "running" schedule,so as to keep my body far away from diseases and tiredness.I told him I already do so.Then we chatted for sometime about the importance of exercising and yoga and meditation.He,being a doctor for about more then 25 years,told me that how doing these things on a daily basis could actually save and avoid the need of medication.I simply agreed.It was the truth.

We all are busy in our lives.Be it a teenager,a college going student,a professional,or the house-makers.Our day start at 6,7,8 A.M. and goes on till 11 or 12 P.M.We do numerous stuff in this period-we work,we cook,we travel,we talk,we walk,we sit,we stand.Full day we have thousands of thoughts,both positive and negative,running across our mind.Everyday we intake a lot of unhealthy foods and drinks.And they are the same reasons we need to exercise and meditate.Wait.Did you say that you don't belong any in that category,or you don't do any of that stuff ? Did you say that you utilize your whole day lying on your couch,watching American sitcoms ? Did you just say that all you do in your entire time is scrolling through various social networking sites through your cell-phone or laptop ? Well,then,ladies and gentlemen,let me gladly tell you that you people are the ones who need to exercise and meditate the most.

Like,I,myself,start my day with some stretching and meditation.Not for long,just 15-20 minutes.And they are really soothing.Especially the meditation part.You close your eyes,and concentrate on your thoughts.What are they about,whom are they about,how they take form,and how momentary they are.But then suddenly,comes a point,when they all vanish,and all that you can see it darkness.But wait for a moment or so,and,there,yes,right there,you see an orange light illuminating that darkness.What's the most exciting part is when you not only see that light,but also feel it.When you feel that light warming your mind and soul,like dawn does.It energizes you like no energy drink ever could.

Speaking of exercising,it is as important as meditation.If you have dreams and goals,and if you really want to accomplish them timely,then none of you can deny the importance of a healthy body.If we need to fulfill our wishes,we need to work hard,and to work day and night,we need to be healthy and fit.Have you ever heard of someone who is weak and ill and unhealthy,doing anything fruitful.When-ever we fall ill,we go to our respective doctors.Why so ? Because none of us could work in an unhealthy state.We need to be fit and fine both mentally and physically to be in a working condition.

Most of the people I know don't do any of such things.Some of them do go to gym,and that's great,but if you really want to stay fit,you don't really need a gym.You can very well exercise and meditate in your balcony,or can go cycling down the street to that grocery store.You don't need that lift of your block,every-time.Once in a day,just once,you may use the conventional staircase.Join a dance class,if you can.Drink lots of water and less of beer.Absorb sunlight like a plant.I am not saying that doing all of such things would mean that you would never fall ill,but surely the graph would heavily come down.Therefore,Exercise.Meditate.Or,medicate.Choice is all yours. :)
